Lesson summary

After silent mîm, before م, the two mîms merge and are read with a nasal sound.

How do I read it?

Read the two M’s as one doubled M and hold the nasal sound for one elif.

Letters: م

Remember: مْ + م → merge, with a nasal sound.

Common mistake: Reading two separate M’s, or dropping one.

  • In the Mushaf the second mîm often has a shadda.
