Lesson summary

After silent nûn or tanween, before ي م ن و, the N merges into that letter with a nasal sound.

How do I read it?

Do not say the N on its own; merge it into the next letter and hold the nasal sound for one elif.

Letters: ي م ن و

Remember: Shortcut: يَمْنُو (yamnū) = ي م ن و → merge with a nasal sound.

  • Inside one word there is no merging; the N is said clearly: دُنْيَا, بُنْيَانٌ.
