Lesson summary

If the madd letter ends one word and the hamza starts the next, it is madd munfasil.

How do I read it?

Join the two words: lengthen the end of the first, then say the hamza.

Letters: Madd letter at the end of a word + hamza in the next word

Length: 3 elif (a relative length in Tedvîr recitation, not seconds)

Common mistake: Dropping the hamza of the second word.

  • If you stop on the first word, there is no madd munfasil.
