The lâm in the name of Allah is thick after a fatha or damma, and thin after a kasra.
How do I read it?
Look at the vowel before the name of Allah and read the lâm accordingly.
Letters: The vowel before اللّٰه
Remember: Fatha / damma → thick · kasra → thin.
Common mistake: Always reading it thick, without looking at the vowel before it.
- If you start reading with the name of Allah, the lâm is thick.
- This rule is only for the lâm in the name of Allah.
