Lesson summary

The pronoun ه is lengthened when the letters before and after it both have a vowel.

How do I read it?

Look at the letters before and after ه: if both have a vowel, lengthen it; if one has no vowel, do not.

Letters: The pronoun ـهُ / ـهِ

Remember: Vowel + ه + vowel = lengthen.

Common mistake: Lengthening every ه.

  • A ه that belongs to the root of the word is not a pronoun and is not lengthened.
  • If you stop on the pronoun, it is not lengthened.
